Background

Recombinant antibodies are produced in vitro by recombinant DNA technology using the genes encoding antibodies as the starting material. These genes are cloned into high-yield expression vectors and then introduced into expression hosts to generate recombinant antibodies. Not only full-length antibodies but also antibody fragments such as Fab/scFv/sdAb can be produced. Recombinant antibodies offer many advantages and are therefore widely used in life sciences and medicine. They have been developed for a variety of applications such as ELISA, Western blot, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and ChIP. Recombinant monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies are already powerful tools in kinase/phosphatase biology to elucidate the regulation mechanism of phosphorylation and develop new drugs targeting kinases or phosphatases.
