Tissue-Specific Expression of Kinases/Phosphatases

Creative BioMart provides our customers with high-quality customized services to help them analyze the tissue-specific expression of their kinases and/or phosphatases of interest. A well-established technology platform and an experienced scientific team enable us to help our customers move their projects forward successfully.

Although most tissues in an organism share identical genomes and overlapping transcription profiles, each tissue exhibits diverse physiology that has important implications for both health and disease. The unique physiology of each tissue is specialized through tightly regulated gene and protein expression coordinated by differential post-translational modifications. These modifications can tune the activity of ubiquitous proteins to meet the needs of each tissue. Although physiological differences among tissues due to differential gene expression or protein abundance and subcellular localization have been revealed by genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic analyses, they do not provide an adequate explanation for the tissue-specific effects of post-translational regulation.

Phosphorylation, a common post-translational modification, is a fundamental mechanism for regulating protein activity. It is reversible, fast, and often highly specific. Kinases and phosphatases are responsible for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, respectively, and are themselves regulated by phosphorylation, thus forming a complex cellular signaling network. Many phosphorylation networks have been elucidated in immortalized cell lines; however, it is not sufficient to explain specialized tissue physiology. Therefore, combining large-scale, multi-tissue kinases/phosphatases expression analysis with phosphorylation site identification is essential to provide new insights into the crucial role of phosphorylation in cell signaling.

Service Offering

Creative BioMart offers comprehensive analysis of tissue-specific expression for almost all kinds of kinases and phosphatases in different species. We can also conduct cross-tissue analysis to inform the identification of new drug targets and biomarkers. Our scientists are dedicated to providing our customers with end-to-end services to help them save time and effort. Our skilled scientists will work closely with our customers to develop the perfect project plan to meet their needs and accelerate their journey to success.

Tissue-Specific Expression of Kinase/Phosphatase Genes

Tissue specific genes usually express at high levels in a subset of tissues and play key roles in the biological functions unique to these tissues. These uniquely expressed genes were largely considered typical for each tissue. Predicting the function of kinases and phosphatases by detecting their tissue-specific gene expression levels is essential for exploring their role in diseases, which provides the basis for targeted therapies.

Creative BioMart offers tissue-specific gene expression profiling services based on various techniques such as Northern blotting, RT-PCR, cell sorting, RNA-seq, and microarrays. We also provide co-expression network analysis to determine the functional context of kinase/phosphatase genes. Our scientists can help our customers reveal diverse functions of kinases/phosphatases using tissue-specific approaches and provide insights into their potential functional roles in health and disease.

Tissue-Specific Expression of Phosphoproteins

Phosphorylation is involved in nearly every aspect of life and death. Discovery and identification of phosphoproteins is a key step in understanding the regulatory role of phosphorylation. Distinctive and complementary phosphoprotein expression profiles support each tissue’s unique physiology. Techniques have been developed to distinguish between tissue-specific phosphorylation of ubiquitous proteins and phosphorylation of tissue-specific proteins.

Creative BioMart provides comprehensive analysis of tissue-specific expression of phosphoproteins using Western blot, in situ hybridization, mass spectrometry, proteomics, and other technologies. We can perform functional analysis of phosphoproteins and nonmodified proteins expressed in different tissues to generate molecular networks dynamically regulated by tissue-specific kinases and phosphatases.
